We want to provide an update on COVID-19 within our Edgemere community. We learned on Wednesday, October 7th, that two of our team members tested positive for the virus. By way of recap, we have a total of eight active team member cases of COVID-19, and all are self-isolating at home with the support of our Human Resources team.
We are pleased to report that there are no active resident cases of COVID-19 in our community at this time.
We understand that you have concerns and may have questions about COVID-19 and the current situation in our community. Please know we continue with our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members, and our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.
Lifespace and Edgemere continue to follow heightened infection control guidelines from our local, state and federal agencies. We highly encourage residents to only leave the community for essential needs like groceries or critical medical appointments. Residents and team members are encouraged to practice social distancing and wear a mask or face covering when interacting with others in public settings. Team members are also asked to continue exercising an abundance of caution, including practicing social distancing during break and meal periods to further limit the transmissibility of this virus. Proper hand hygiene including regular handwashing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer are essential to preventing the spread of the virus.
