We want to provide an update on an exposure to COVID-19 within our Edgemere community. We learned on Sunday, November 8th, that one of our team members tested positive. By way of recap, we have four total active cases of COVID-19 among team members and persons who provide care to residents and the community, and all are self-isolating at home.

As previously communicated, we have one total active independent living resident case of the virus; they are being cared for at the hospital.

We understand that you have concerns and may have questions about COVID-19 and the current situation in our community. Please know we continue with our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members, and our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.

Lifespace and Edgemere continue to follow heightened infection control guidelines from our local, state and federal agencies. We highly encourage residents to only leave the community for essential needs like groceries or critical medical appointments. Residents and team members are encouraged to practice social distancing and wear a mask or face covering when interacting with others in public settings. Team members are also asked to continue exercising an abundance of caution, including practicing social distancing during break and meal periods to further limit the transmissibility of this virus. Proper hand hygiene including regular handwashing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer are essential to preventing the spread of the virus.

As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will provide regular updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community. We appreciate your support and continued adherence to the protocols we have implemented to protect our residents and team members. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Edgemere management team.

Thank you
