We want to provide an update on COVID-19 within our Edgemere community. We learned recently that one of our residential living residents tested positive for the virus. This resident is no longer in our community, and there are no active resident cases of COVID-19 in Edgemere at this time.
We also learned today that a team member tested positive for the virus. By way of recap, we have two active team member cases of COVID-19, and both are self-isolating at home with the support of our Human Resources team.
As a reminder, we make every effort to communicate updates when we receive the information and as appropriate. Due to HIPAA regulations, we cannot share confidential resident or team member information. We understand that you have concerns and may have questions about COVID-19 and the current situation in our community. Please know we continue with our commitment to protect the health and safety of our residents and team members, and our team continues to be proactive in mitigating the risk of further exposure to the virus within our community.
Lifespace and Edgemere continue to follow heightened infection control guidelines and we highly encourage residents to only leave the community for essential needs like groceries or critical medical appointments. Residents and team members are encouraged to practice social distancing and wear a mask or face covering when you interact with others in public settings. Proper hand hygiene including handwashing and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer are essential to preventing the spread of the virus. As we have done throughout the last several weeks, we will provide regular updates about our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy community.
We appreciate your support and continued adherence to the protocols we have implemented to protect our residents and team members. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Edgemere management team.
Thank you.
