February 19, 2021 Winter Weather Update
To our Edgemere Residents, Family Members, and Team Members:
We want to provide you an update on our Edgemere community.
We continue to have issues in heating our entire community. Specifically, our Independent Living apartments on the third floor remain the coldest. If these residents would like to temporarily relocate to some available apartments in the Plaza, we will gladly do that for you. We also continue to host several warming spaces throughout the community where you can come get toasty warm.
We have also discovered several broken water pipes in the community. Depending on the location, one broken water pipe can impact more than one apartment. Everyone impacted by these known water issues have been relocated.
It is very important that residents within our community continue to be alert for signs of water leaks. If you see any evidence of water leaking or water damage, please contact the Concierge immediately.
We have vendors on site working on our heating system today. And we are working as quickly as we can to remediate water damage. As you might imagine, water remediation companies have been deluged with work around the city; they will get here as soon as they can. In the meantime, we will continue to use our limited staff to advance the work as much as possible.
Also of note, the vaccine clinic that was scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, has been rescheduled for early next week. We will inform you of the exact date when it has been confirmed.
We continue to ask residents that left the community to stay with friends, to remain off-site if possible, until we have 24 hours of consistent temperatures and we have had the opportunity to search for broken water pipes throughout the community.
Remember:
- If your apartment has been impacted by our heating issues and you would like to relocate to an apartment in the Plaza, please contact the Resident Care Coordinator Team or the Concierge.
- If you see any evidence of water leaks, please contact the Concierge immediately.
- The vaccine clinic on Saturday will not take place. It will be rescheduled for early next week.
- We are still in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Masks must continue to be worn throughout the community for your protection against the ongoing spread of the virus.
We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work as quickly as possible to return Edgemere to full operations.
Thank you.
