I didn’t know how I would feel about downsizing and moving from my home. I wanted to live where I could have friends my own age. I knew about Edgemere’s reputation, and I knew I’d feel secure. I’m 100% comfortable. All the residents and team members are so friendly; everyone smiles and says hello. Everyone is so helpful, especially the maintenance people. I love all the activities, especially fitness. No one could get bored here. I exercise at least two hours a day: cardio class, Pilates, aquatics classes and the machines in the gym. I absolutely love it here, and I truly feel at home.

My wife Fifi and I have lived at Edgemere for six years. We chose this community because we only wanted to make one move that would allow us to be taken care of for life. The task of downsizing and moving seemed almost insurmountable, but it really couldn’t have been easier. Edgemere’s team and the moving company they referred to us made it so easy, we literally didn’t even drive one nail.
The best thing, though, is all the people we live with here. They all come from so many interesting backgrounds: nuclear physicists, veterans, doctors, teachers. We only knew two people when we moved here and now we’ve made countless good friends over the years. We moved in and never looked back – no regrets whatsoever.
Every year at Christmas, when we came to visit our son and his family, we'd come back and look at Edgemere. We looked at every other place in Dallas too. We liked Edgemere best, but the thing that really made up our mind was Edgemere’s health services. I was a nurse and Jim worked in the medical field. Knowing that we would get good care right here was very important to us. That's why we're here.
Its location in the city, where things are going on and we can get to places conveniently. You can go on living your life, and it doesn't all have to be here.
We moved in when we were younger, and I think that was a very good idea, because we were able to get involved in a lot of the activities. I think it also made the transition even easier overall.
